Secondary schools

Secondary schools use Lea Green for a wide variety of courses – from year 7 introductory courses through to GCSE revision work and ‘A’ level coursework, the facilities here allow the freedom to develop a programme to suit your desired outcomes.

Residentials
Have you ever thought about a residential for your class or group? We offer a wide range of programmes for personal development aimed at giving young people a chance to grow.

If you are looking at a residential for the first time, we can help answer questions you may have, why should you consider a residential? How could it support your curriculum? What will a typical day involve?

We will discuss what you are looking to achieve, the age group you work with and what sort of activities may be suitable before putting together a tailor made programme for your stay. Call our team on 01629 534561 today.

From outdoor adventurous activity to curriculum based learning:

  • Use the team swing to work out mathematical equations
  • Use the links Lea Green has with the Smedley family to explore the industrial revolution
  • Use water features in the local area to study stream flows or carry out pond dipping
  • Use the high quality teaching spaces for coursework/ revision/ workshops

Our programmes are designed not only to assist young people with their learning objectives, but also to help them develop into healthy, active and responsible citizens.

High quality outdoor education can help to stimulate enthusiasm, foster independence, aid personal development and inspire learning.

Behavioural support
Not all children will excel in the education system, and we believe it is important to show them different areas where they can channel their energy and feel a sense of achievement.

We regularly work with children and young people who need behavioural support and / or are at risk from exclusion.

The outdoor environment can be a very powerful tool, with courses based around encouraging self worth and calculated risk assessment in young people, realising their potential and understanding the strengths and weaknesses of both themselves and their peers.

We can develop a course aimed to address particular issues for your groups and compliment work you are doing in school.

Teaching staff courses and more
As well as tailored programmes for school groups, we can offer inset days and team building days for teaching staff and programmes for groups or individuals within mainstream groups with additional needs. Lea Green is an approved Duke of Edinburgh Awards Activity Provider, so we can also assist with your expeditions and gold residential opportunities.
