Feedback From Adults
Newbold C of E Primary School
“The staff are friendly without exception. The leaders are efficient experts. I always feel we are in safe hands. The house and grounds are inspirational. Activities and equipment are sound and fun. The food is fantastic and the kitchen caters for special diets. It was great to see a different side to many of the children, which we don’t get to see during lessons. Lea Green brings out the best in everyone, adults and kids!”
Head of John Taylor Free School
“The feedback from students, and staff, has been overwhelmingly positive. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and made new friends which was entirely the purpose of the day. The event was well organised by your team and I am grateful for their part in ensuring the day was such a success. Please pass on my thanks to the staff who worked so hard with our students to enable them to enjoy themselves – this was particularly challenging as many of the children didn’t know anyone at all at the start of the day. The staff certainly facilitated lots of activities which bonded the groups together!”
Group leader from Ashgate Croft School
“Sensory activities for our pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities were well thought out and having patient instructors ensured the varied needs of our group were met.”
Group leaders from Stanton Vale Special School
“All staff have been very accommodating from activity staff, cleaning and ground staff. Thank you for an amazing experience for our young people, we have all made memories, increased rapport and developed our team building skills. Our communication, tolerance of others and confidence of working with new people has also developed. We can’t wait to share this week in our assembly with photos and stories from our time at Lea Green Centre!”
“Amazing food and very generous servings. The separate dining room we requested was good for our pupils and very accommodating. Vegetarian and soft foods were greatly appreciated.”
Parent of a Meadow Lodge accessible accommodation guest
“I just want to say what a fantastic first stay my son had had at Meadow Lodge. He’s already counting the days until he can return. He has experienced things this weekend that I never knew possible. It really has meant the world to me. His instructor was Ian..wow..what a guy..my son instantly took a shine to him and I reckon they will be friends for life. Ian couldn’t do enough.. in fact all the staff are amazing. I’ll be so confident in letting him come with his support workers to provide a break and I’ll rest easy knowing he is in perfect hands.”
Teaching staff from Mundy Church of England Junior School
“Our main aim of the children bonding with one another and the staff (both school and Lea Green) whilst taking in once in a lifetime experiences has definitely been achieved. The programme was fully packed and the move between activities was seamless. For being able to fit so much in whilst keeping the children on board and engaged, the staff are a credit to the centre, going above and beyond to help the children. We have had a fantastic experience!”
University of Nottingham tutor of first year education students
“Just want to say thanks for a great day. It all worked really well and you were brilliant at reinforcing what we wanted the group to get from the day about co-operative working. It is the most energised I have seen that group since they started!”
Teaching staff from Wyndham Primary Academy
“All children have challenged themselves and really worked as a team, many have never stayed away from home, never mind experienced the range of activities offered in which they have been pushed to their limits. The activities offered were diverse (team swing, bushcraft, stream walk, archery/gps) they all challenged children differently but were extremely fun. You really have given the children an experience they will remember. They have learnt to overcome fears and have built friendships. Thank you to the staff, your knowledge, manner and above and beyond attitude has made this a great experience.”
“We have been astounded by the outstanding service provided. The staff are superb – knowledgeable, helpful and great with our diverse range of children. The centre is fabulous, great accommodation and catering, a fab range of facilities led by experience, professional instructors. Every need during the stay was addressed, there was a really high level of attention to detail.”
“Food was delicious and always lots of it! Staff were always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble.”
Silverhill Primary School, Teacher
“Instructors know your name and don’t call you ‘Miss’! Sets your centre apart from others who make you feel like you are on a production line.”
Ashgate Croft School (staff team-building day)
“I just wanted to email to thank you and your team for providing an excellent day for our staff- staff have been buzzing about it and are still talking about it.”
“Really enjoyed the day. Good to work with people you wouldn’t normally work with.”
“Excellent. Good idea to be put in teams, not for us to choose.”
“This was a really successful day. The activities in the morning were fun & they encouraged us having to work together. The afternoon was fantastic for me. I felt that staff / colleagues were supportive & encouraging.”
“Thank you for organising this day. A really good selection of activities to include everyone. Really enjoyed it. Good to mix with staff from throughout the school.”
“Brilliant day. I was part of a team which I wouldn’t normally work with. Everyone encouraged each other and morale was high.”
Willington Primary School
“This is our first experience of a residential, the staff and children have thoroughly enjoyed it and will be talking about the experience for a long time. Activities were varied and kept the children busy all the time. Staff liked the fact some activities ‘separated’ the group and gave the children opportunities to work with others and a chance to shine in a smaller group. There is no doubt we will come back and we can’t thank you enough for making our first experience so exciting, magical and challenging.”
Feedback From Children
Stonelow Junior School
“My top favourite activity was the team swing because you had to work as a team to pull the rope to get them to the top and it pushed me to be braver and it made me proud after I went on it because I have never been so high before.” Scarlett
“I learnt a lot of new things from Lea Green like working better as a team and I got to know a few people more. It was the best residential I have ever been on! I thoroughly loved the food. I have been on two other residentials and your food was the nicest by far.” Ellie
“Everyone at Lea Green is so friendly and whenever I walked past someone they smiled and said hello. Everyone should go to Lea Green as it helps you to work as a team, make friends and have fun.” Millie
Stanley St Andrew C of E Primary School
“After my incredible stay at Lea Green I feel ready for anything. Thankyou for one of the best times of my life!” Jacob
“The stream walk was fantastic! Getting through the murky, forceful water was so much fun. The water was always up to my wellies and made my feet constantly cold and wet. I haven’t stopped talking about it since.” T Sullivan
“Wow the food at Lea Green is incredible, I ate like a king! I loved all the range of hot dinners and the English breakfast, but my favourite was definitely the roast dinner. The turkey was perfect as well as they potatoes, I wolfed it down as if I hadn’t eaten in a week. After breakfast, lunch or dinner I was ready for the activities.” Unknown
William Gilbert Endowed Primary School
