Spectrum Festival wins accessibility award

We're delighted that our friends from PeaksGo have received an award for the 'Best New Accessible Event' at the Accessible Derbyshire awards for Spectrum Autism Friendly Festival, held at Lea Green Centre in September. Newly improved high ropes course opens at Markeaton Park

The high ropes course at Markeaton Park, Derby has now reopened as Skyline at Markeaton thanks to a new partnership between Derbyshire County Council's Outdoor Education Service (which includes Lea Green Centre) who will operate the course, and Derby City Council which owns the facility. Meet the team – apprentice Ben

I’m Ben Townsend, I’m 22 years old and I have been working at Lea Green Centre since September 2015. I am currently on an apprenticeship scheme which is working out really well and am studying Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Outdoor Programmes. I was told about the job role by one of my old teachers who I stayed in touch with as I kept going back to my old school to do little bits of volunteering work.
